Plot Synopsis
During the war in the Republic of China, several young people were determined to join the revolution. Xue Yunjin ( played by Chen Xiang ) was a man of great loyalty and righteousness. He was forced to live on the streets in his childhood due to his father's illness and poverty, which shaped his extreme character. He had a rough early life, but later he had a sense of patriotism. Duan Siqi ( played by Su Qing ) was kind and wanted to live an ordinary life. She and Xue Yunjin were childhood sweethearts. The two were separated due to a disaster and reunited ten years later. Xue Yunjin was deceived by his master and framed Siqi. Siqi was forced to attend a special agent training camp. After unyielding resistance, she compromised because her mother was kidnapped. After graduation, Siqi approached the young marshal and met Du Zigang ( played by Zhang Yongbo ) in Kang Mansion . Du had joined the party and was tasked with inciting rebellion. Episode 1
In 1921, patriotic businessman Xu Guangyuan was attacked. Before his death, he entrusted a huge sum of money to Duan Pingshan and Du Yushi, who then hid in Wucheng. Ten years later, Japanese agent Yamada was delivering intelligence in the church. KMT agent Xue Yunjin was preparing to assassinate. Duan Pingshan's daughter Duan Siqi was in the church. The whistle fell and was picked up by Yamada. Yunjin shot and killed Yamada. Siqi escaped and met Yunjin but they did not know each other. Xiao Yichen blocked the pursuers. When Yunjin was assassinating, the Communist Cai Mingzhi appeared to take away the information. Japanese agent Yang Er ordered Li Canghai to thoroughly investigate Yunjin and Siqi. Yunjin asked Xiao Yichen to investigate Siqi and inform his master Ma Huilong that he would arrive and bring more people to greet him. Siqi returned to Duan's house. Duan Pingshan and Du Yushi decided to let Siqi marry Du Zigang because of the hidden gold. Siqi opposed and wanted to escape the marriage to Shanghai. She was chased by the Japanese on the train and was rescued by Ma Huilong and his apprentice. Ma Huilong said that Yun Jin's report on the German women's special training camp was appreciated by the headquarters, and sending him to assassinate Yamada was a test. He explained the reason for the severed finger and told Yun Jin that the person he saved at the train station was Duan Pingshan's daughter Duan Siqi.

Episode 2
Ma Huilong and Yun Jin went to Duan's house to explain what happened that year. Duan Pingshan tore up the letter and didn't believe him. Ma Huilong knelt down and left in vain.
