Plot Synopsis

Before and after the Xinhai Revolution, the country was on the verge of collapse due to political corruption and people's poverty. In order to save the nation from peril and seek a way to save the country, a generation of promising young people resolutely embarked on a difficult and long road of exploration.
In 1906, it was the Mid-Autumn Festival. Cai Zhensheng, the eldest son of the Cai family manor in the suburbs of Jiujiang, was admitted to the Hubei Military Academy, and the whole family was celebrating with lanterns and decorations. The arrival of an uninvited guest broke the festive atmosphere - Su Zixiang, the owner of Xiangji Rice Shop, came to ask for help. His daughter Su Zhenyu was kidnapped by the bandit Zhang Baozai on Duxiu Peak. The chivalrous Cai Zhensheng not only rescued Su Zhenyu, but also became friends with the bandit Zhang Baozai. A heroic rescue, Su Zhenyu secretly fell in love with her, and Cai Zhensheng also fell in love with Su Zhenyu at first sight, which aroused the jealousy of Jia Liang, the head of the external committee - because he also had his eyes on Su Zhenyu.
Thousands of miles away, Guo Jingwen, the second son of the Guo Ironworks in Hankou, also passed the Wubei Academy. On the day of the big wedding, Guo Jingwen's sister Guo Jingzhi was arrested and imprisoned. In order to commemorate the eleventh anniversary of the defeat of the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, she was influenced by the revolutionaries and actively organized a student parade, and was arrested by the military police. Hubei Assistant Commander Baochen knew that the Guo family had a close personal relationship with Yuan Shikai, so he deliberately protected the Guo family, took the initiative to release Guo Jingzhi from prison, and brought his daughter Yuehua, who had just returned from studying in Japan, to Guo's mansion to spend the Mid-Autumn Festival. Yuehua had a good impression of Guo Jingwen, which aroused the jealousy of Feng Enran, Baochen's capable subordinate. It turned out that Feng Enran and Yuehua had an early engagement.
After the Mid-Autumn Festival, Cai Zhensheng said goodbye to his family and Su Zhenyu and boarded a passenger ship to Wuchang. As soon as he arrived in Wuchang, Cai Zhensheng was bullied by a group of hooligans, and Guo Jingwen came to his aid. The two exchanged names and found out that they were classmates who were going to the Wubei Academy, so they traveled together. The two were excited and looked forward to a bright future. They would never have dreamed that in the next few years, they would be brothers in life and death, respecting each other like brothers; but because of different beliefs, they became two sides of the hostile camp, gradually drifting apart on the road of life, and even drawing guns and fighting against each other several times.
At the opening ceremony, the progressive general manager Xu Xiyong was killed in the bombing in public. There was a major personnel adjustment in the school. Baochen personally served as the general manager of the school, and Feng Enran served as the general manager of the Academic Affairs Office. As soon as they entered the school, they witnessed this shocking bloody case, and the passion of Cai Zhensheng and Guo Jingwen was greatly reduced. Then they were angered by the Japanese instructors' repeated insulting behavior in the classroom. Cai Zhensheng also accidentally discovered that the Japanese instructor was the murderer who killed the general manager Xu Xiyong. In fact, Xu Xiyong was secretly assigned by Baochen to be killed by the Japanese instructor. In order to save the Japanese instructor, Baochen decided to expel Cai Zhensheng. The whole school was boiling. Under the instigation of Guo Jingwen and the progressive instructor Liu Songting, a large-scale demonstration broke out in the school. Baochen had to expel the Japanese instructor and send him back to China. Since then, Baochen, Feng Enran and others have regarded Cai Zhensheng and Guo Jingwen as thorns in their eyes and must get rid of them as soon as possible.
Jia Liang went to the Su family to propose marriage but was rejected by Su Zixiang. Jia Liang, who was full of hatred, took revenge by arresting Su Zixiang's son, Su Guoqiang, a revolutionary rebel. Although Su Guoqiang escaped by chance, Jia Liang refused to give up and threatened Su Zixiang to marry his daughter to him again. Su Zixiang had no choice but to agree to the marriage and secretly detained the letters between Su Zhenyu and Cai Zhensheng.
On February 12, 1912, the Qing emperor abdicated and the war ended. Cai Zhensheng finally found Su Zhenyu through Zhang Baozai, and the couple finally got married after going through so much hardship.
However, the fruits of victory of the Xinhai Revolution were stolen by Yuan Shikai, and China continued to be plagued by wars, poverty and weakness. Cai Zhensheng and Guo Jingwen fell into great pain and confusion. Ten years later, they were invited to serve as instructors at the Whampoa Military Academy. The night was long and the road was still long, but they never stopped exploring

Episode 1
A town in Jiujiang. Cai Zhensheng got the admission letter of Hubei Wubei Academy from the town, and rushed home happily. In the grass by the roadside, Cai Zhensheng found a man. This man was the man who was chased by the patrol police in Guangzhou. At this moment, he was dying, and the gunshot wound on his shoulder had already begun to fester. Cai Zhensheng was a passionate young man. How could he watch the man die without saving him? After he gave the man a simple bandage, he was going to send him to the hospital. Unexpectedly, the man waved his hands again and again, benefactor, I appreciate your kindness, but I must not go to the hospital. Benefactor, you just need to send me to a remote place and get me some water and food, and I will be grateful. Cai Zhensheng had to give up and sent the man to an ancient temple, got him clean water, and told him that it was safe here and few people came here usually. You can rest here and recuperate. If there are suspicious people waiting in the temple, you can hide in the dark room, which is absolutely safe. The man was very grateful, and Cai Zhensheng said goodbye and went home. Jiujiang Yanzhi Street. This is a busy street. Because it is the Mid-Autumn Festival, there is a constant stream of people coming and going. Su Zhenyu, a young lady from a wealthy family, and her maid Xiaoyue were enthusiastically choosing various accessories on the street, but they did not notice that a carriage was always following them not far away. It was getting late, and Su Zhenyu and Xiaoyue were preparing to rush back to go home and spend the Mid-Autumn Festival with their father. When they walked to a corner, they suddenly found a carriage parked in the middle of the road, just blocking the way. While they were stunned, three people jumped down from the carriage. Two of them quickly covered Su Zhenyu's mouth and forcibly pulled her into the carriage. The maid Xiaoyue was stunned by all this. Just as she was about to call for help, she found a burly man standing in front of her, holding a dagger in his hand, and shouted, "Shut up, otherwise I'll kill you." Xiaoyue was so scared that she immediately fell silent, trembling, and looked at the burly man with tears in her eyes. The man said nothing more, took out a letter from his pocket, handed it to Xiaoyue, and said expressionlessly, "Give this letter to your master and tell him that if you want to save your young lady's life, you must do as I say." After the man finished speaking, he jumped onto the carriage and drove away. After a long time, the stunned Xiaoyue came to her senses, took the letter, and flew to Su's Rice Shop to report the news.

Episode 2
Jiujiang Ancient Temple. Cai Zhensheng gently put down Su Zhenyu on his back. Su Zhenyu said weakly, I am sorry for causing you trouble. Cai Zhensheng shook his head at her and said, "Don't talk nonsense. I promised your father that I would send you to her safely, and I must do it." Cai Zhensheng stood up, looked at Zhang Baozai, and asked loudly, "Excuse me, are you Zhang Baozai? Zhang Baozai clasped his fists and said, 'I am Zhang Baozai.'" Cai Zhensheng pointed to the bandits who were still sleeping behind him and said, "You are all poor people. I admire you for robbing the rich to help the poor. I will not send you to see the officials. I just ask you to let this weak woman go." Zhang Baozai smiled and said, "You can take her away, but you have to ask if my fists agree first." A fistfight was inevitable. Cai Zhensheng and Zhang Baozai could not help but admire each other's kung fu. In the end, Cai Zhensheng was more skilled. Seeing that he was about to hit Zhang Baozai's vital point, Zhang Baozai closed his eyes and cried in his heart, "It's over." But Cai Zhensheng's fist did not fall. Zhang Baozai knew that Cai Zhensheng had stopped in time and let him go. Wuchang Wharf. Cai Zhensheng, who had just got off the boat, was full of curiosity about this strange city. He was looking around. Seeing that he was a foreigner, several Wuhan thugs came up to him and wanted to "help" him carry his luggage, but they asked for a very high reward. Cai Zhensheng was angered by their provocation. The two sides fought, but the thugs were outnumbered and two fists could not beat four hands. He gradually lost the upper hand. At this time, Guo Jingwen, who was passing by here in a carriage, happened to see this scene. He came up to help with a sense of justice. The two of them worked together to beat the thugs to the ground. Guo Jingwen felt that he was still not satisfied, and suggested that they should be handed over to the government. They should not be allowed to do evil anymore. Cai Zhensheng replied, I think it's better to forget it. These people are just street hooligans. There is no need to fight them seriously. What's more, do you think the government will really deal with them? The current government may be their accomplices. Let's go quickly. As the saying goes, there is no coincidence in the world. After the two talked, they found out that they were all rushing to report to the Military Academy. Guo Jingwen enthusiastically invited Cai Zhensheng to take his carriage, and the two of them went together and headed towards the Military Academy. Along the way, Guo Jingwen and Cai Zhensheng were full of curiosity about the Military Academy and looked forward to a bright future. Cai Zhensheng asked Guo Jingwen what he wanted to do in the future. Guo Jingwen said without hesitation, I want to study hard in the Military Academy, become an outstanding soldier, be loyal to the country, and serve the country. What about you, Cai Zhensheng smiled, the same as you.

Episode 3
On this day, Feng Enran led everyone to practice bayonet fighting. Bayonet fighting is actually a separate subject called "swordsmanship class", which is taught by Japanese instructor Sato. When Cai Zhensheng and Guo Jingwen heard that the instructor was a Japanese, they immediately became interested. Swordsmanship is generally divided into two parts, attack and defense. However, the Japanese instructor only taught the students some offensive moves and stopped teaching. He directly left these students and let them figure it out on their own. Cai Zhensheng couldn't stand it anymore. He ran up to Sato and asked: Report to the instructor, we have learned to attack, and the next thing we should learn is defense. Soldiers cannot fight without self-defense. Cai Zhensheng never expected that Sato would leave in a hurry on the grounds that the course was over, and said that the instructor's break time had come and he had the right to refuse to answer the students' questions. This made Cai Zhensheng and other students secretly dissatisfied. The notice of expulsion issued by Baochen was soon issued to the school. The reason for dismissing Cai Zhensheng was that "Cai Zhensheng was disrespectful to foreign instructors and had no respect for teachers. If he was not dismissed, it would be impossible to rectify the discipline of the Qing Dynasty." A stone stirred up a thousand waves. The students were indignant when they saw the notice of expulsion. Guo Jingwen and Liu Songting were particularly angry. They led the students to actively mobilize the teachers and students, calling on everyone to go on strike and jointly boycott the school's decision to expel Cai Zhensheng. After hearing about Cai Zhensheng's deeds of arguing for the nation in class, the teachers and students all supported Cai Zhensheng. Under the leadership of Guo Jingwen and Liu Songting, teachers and students marched in the school, holding slogans such as "Release Cai Zhensheng" and "Restore Cai Zhensheng's student status". The momentum was so great that the Wubei School was in turmoil. While the teachers and students of the Military Academy were busy writing slogans and making banners, the Japanese instructors went to the classroom to teach, but were surprised to find that most of the classrooms were empty. The instructors had to go back in dismay. Baochen was terrified when he heard about this. As long as the students did not return to class, the school would not be at peace. If the Qing court blamed him, he would be to blame. In desperation, Baochen had to order Feng Enran to withdraw the notice of expulsion, release Cai Zhensheng, and clearly guarantee that he would not pursue Cai Zhensheng's responsibility, but would never mention the punishment of the Japanese instructors. The school originally thought that after making such a huge concession, the trend of teachers and students striking classes would subside, so they encouraged the students to return to class. However, the next morning, when the Japanese instructors went to the classroom again to prepare for the class, they found that the classroom was still empty. The Japanese instructors looked at each other in confusion. When they were suspicious, the school playground was lively again, and the Chinese slogans rang out again: "Severely punish the murderer of Xu Xiyong", "Expel the Japanese instructors", "Down with the little Japanese". The slogans were heard one after another. The students of the Military Academy even threatened that they would drop out of school collectively if they did not drive away the Japanese instructors. They also organized a student picket group to capture the real murderer of Xu Xiyong. It turned out that Cai Zhensheng had told the students everything he heard that night. Everyone unanimously believed that Japanese instructors such as Sato were the murderers behind the murder of Xu Xiyong, and even Feng Enran might not be able to get away from it. They organized to write a joint letter, vowing that if the school did not agree to their request, they would drop out of school collectively. At the entrance of the Military Academy, Feng Enran stopped Yuehua who was about to leave and asked why Yuehua was so cold to him. Lord Baochen had betrothed Yuehua to him, and he was Yuehua's fiancé. Three years ago, it was Feng Enran who personally sent Yuehua on the ship, but three years later, Yuehua, who he waited for, seemed to have changed and didn't even look at him. This made him very sad and confused. What was he not doing well? Yuehua replied that it was not her idea to betroth me to you, but her father's self-initiative. In fact, she never had that intention towards Feng Enran, not to mention that she had grown up now, especially in Japan for three years, she had learned to observe and discover with her own eyes, and now she wanted to use her own eyes to find her other half. Feng Enran said sourly, the other half you found is the one surnamed Guo, Yuehua ignored him, turned around and got on the carriage, and left in a cloud of dust. Feng Enran shouted loudly at Yuehua's back, I will not give up. Jiujiang Xiangji Rice Shop. One night, Su Zixiang sat in a rocking chair in the main hall and smoked his pipe, and talked about his daughter's marriage like a cliché. He told Su Zhenyu that Jia Liang had sent someone to propose marriage, but he was rejected. He always felt that Jia Liang had a bandit spirit and was not suitable for Su Zhenyu. Su Zhenyu was very happy and replied, Dad, your daughter will listen to your arrangements. Su Zixiang continued, but Xiaoyu you are not young anymore, and Dad's health is not as good as before, so it's time to find a family for you. Su Zhenyu said cautiously, Dad, your daughter has told you many times that I will serve you all my life and will not marry anyone. Zixiang said affectionately, Silly child, the father and daughter were immersed in a kind of family happiness.

Episode 4
Su Zixiang tried to stay calm and asked Su Zhenyu to take Su Guoqiang and hide, and he would go out to deal with Jia Liang. At this time, Jia Liang had already rushed into the Su Mansion with his men and ordered his men to search the Su Mansion inside and out, and never let the wanted criminal run away. Su Zixiang pretended to be confused and asked Jia Liang what crime he had committed, and why did Lord Jia mobilize so many troops and disturb the mansion? Jia Liang took out a wanted order from his arms and handed it to Su Zixiang, sneering, Su Zixiang, Su Zixiang, you are still so tough when you are about to die, open your old eyes and take a good look at what this is, and sure enough, there was a portrait of Su Guoqiang on the wanted order. Su Zixiang had to bite the bullet and continue to deal with Jia Liang, but Jia Liang was unmoved and acted in a businesslike manner, saying that he had just received an order from above that someone saw the rebel Su Zixiang returning to Jiujiang, and specially sent this official to carry out the arrest mission, please don't interfere with my official duties. At this time, his men came to report that they had searched the entire Su Mansion but did not find any rebels, and now only Miss Su's boudoir was left to be searched. Upon hearing this, Jia Liang personally led his men to surround Su Zhenyu's boudoir, the small attic in the west wing. Su Zixiang's face changed drastically, and he quickly pleaded, saying that the young lady's boudoir should not be barged in casually. Zhenyu is not married yet, how can she get married in the future? Jia Liang pushed him away and said, "It's already this time, and you still care about this." As he spoke, he kicked open the door of the small attic, and Su Zixiang's face turned pale. In the attic, Jia Liang led his men to search carefully, turning over every corner, but except for Su Zhenyu, they did not find even a ghost. Frustrated, Jia Liang apologized to Su Zhenyu for his recklessness, and closed the attic window for Su Zhenyu in a flattering way. After Jia Liang left, Su Zixiang came to Su Zhenyu's boudoir, and then he knew that at the critical moment, Su Zhenyu tore the sheets into pieces, tied them into strips, and let Su Guoqiang pull the strips as ropes to escape through the attic window. When Jia Liang forced his way in, Su Zhenyu had not had time to close the window. It was too dangerous. Su Zixiang breathed a sigh of relief and finally let go of his heart. Su Zhenyu took out a farewell letter from Su Guoqiang with tears in her eyes. In the letter, Su Guoqiang said that he was an unfilial son and an incompetent elder brother. Now he had to flee everywhere. He only hoped that his father and sister would take care of themselves, so that he could get a little peace of mind. Su Zixiang read it and couldn't help crying. Since then, Su Guoqiang left his hometown and began his life of exile. At that time, the two lakes were flooded. People from all walks of life in Wuhan went on strike, stopped classes, and stopped business to protest against the corruption of the Qing government and government officials. The Military Academy was also involved. The progressive instructor Liu Songting took the opportunity to incite students to boycott classes and cut their braids in school, and opposed Feng Enran. Through this incident, Feng Enran felt that Liu Songting was not simple. In order to closely monitor this enemy with "ism" in the future, he placed his own spy Xiao Maozi next to Liu Songting. Cai Zhensheng was influenced by Liu Songting and wanted to get involved. Guo Jingwen urged Cai Zhensheng not to participate. He felt that this matter should be handled by the government, and as a student, he should take the normal way-report the situation to the government, that is, Lord Baochen. Cai Zhensheng did not trust the government. He felt that Guo Jingwen was naive to pin his hopes on Baochen, and that he had to take drastic actions to make the government submit. Neither of them could convince the other, and they parted unhappily. Guo Jingwen went to Lord Baochen, hoping that he could severely punish corrupt officials and distribute the relief food to the victims as soon as possible. Lord Baochen pretended to be indignant and said that he would definitely find out the matter. Guo Jingwen left with hope. Guo Jingwen came back and told Cai Zhensheng that Lord Baochen had promised to resolve the matter as soon as possible and believed that there would be a result soon. Cai Zhensheng was skeptical. Feng Enran reported to Baochen secretly that the students' strike was instigated by someone, and that person was Liu Songting. Liu Songting was likely a revolutionary. Baochen told Feng Enran not to act rashly and to keep a close eye on Liu Songting.

Episode 5
One day, Guo Jingwen suddenly received an order saying that Lord Baochen wanted to summon him alone at his private residence. Guo Jingwen was confused and could not figure out what Baochen meant, but he did not dare to delay and rushed to report. Unexpectedly, it was Yuehua who opened the door. It turned out that Yuehua wanted to see Guo Jingwen, so she summoned Guo Jingwen in the name of her father. Guo Jingwen found that Yuehua had many books about constitutionalism. The two of them talked about the Pingliu Uprising not long ago. The two had surprisingly consistent views and believed that revolution was an extreme behavior. Guo Jingwen increasingly found that the overseas-educated woman in front of him who was full of "constitutionalism" was immature, lived a Westernized life, could ride horses, and played Western shooting, but her views were mature. In terms of thought, she was deeply influenced by Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao who fled to Japan and the constitutional monarchy thought of Japan when she was studying. She supported the constitutional monarchy system. Many of her views coincided with his own, which made him bright!!

Episode 6
Jiujiang, a crisis is escalating: In order to win the beauty as soon as possible, Jia Liang found Su Zixiang and stepped up the pace of forcing him to marry, claiming that his patience was limited. If Su Zixiang dragged his feet, not only would Su Guoqiang be in danger, but the entire Su family and even Xiangji Rice Shop would be in trouble. Su Zixiang understood that the fate of his family was now firmly in the hands of others, and Jia Liang was also a powerful figure in the local area who could not be offended, so he agreed to go back and persuade his daughter. Su Zhenyu was fully aware of the pressure faced by the family, and she couldn't help but worry about the future of herself and Cai Zhensheng. As a member of the family, she was always concerned about her brother who was wanted, and had to take into account her brother's safety, the rise and fall of the family, and the survival of Xiangji Rice Shop. Everything was so tormenting. The kind-hearted Su Zhenyu hid in her boudoir alone, feeling sad.

Episode 7
Knowing that Feng Enran was seeking revenge, Guo Jingwen had no choice but to follow orders. He rushed several times, but was pushed back by the fierce artillery fire and injured his leg. However, Feng Enran was still relentless and forced Guo Jingwen to rush again, otherwise he would kill him. Guo Jingwen had no choice but to step out of the bunker when Cai Zhensheng rushed over and held Guo Jingwen down. Cai Zhensheng asked Feng Enran for orders to blow up the bunker. Feng Enran insisted that Guo Jingwen go. Cai Zhensheng was furious and wanted to argue with Feng Enran. Guo Jingwen grabbed Cai Zhensheng and said, "Brother, I appreciate your kindness. I'll go." Guo Jingwen picked up the explosive pack and was about to rush out of the bunker, but Cai Zhensheng threw him to the ground, snatched the explosive pack from Guo Jingwen's hand, and rushed out. Guo Jingwen shouted: Brother, Feng Enran: You disobeyed military orders, I will kill you. Feng Enran raised his gun to shoot, but was knocked down by Guo Jingwen. A bomb flew over, and the soil splashed everywhere, burying the two men underground. Cai Zhensheng rushed out of the bunker like an arrow. Cai Zhensheng cleverly dodged the enemy's artillery fire, killed several enemies, and finally rushed to the bunker safely. At the same time, Guo Jingwen had been squatting in the bunker, watching Cai Zhensheng on the battlefield with a worried look.

Episode 8
Seeing the woman he loved the most getting married, Cai Zhensheng was very depressed for a time. He stayed in his room all day, drinking to relieve his sorrow, and didn't say a word to his family. Su Zhenyu was very worried when she knew about it, and she was eager to visit Cai Zhensheng, but under the pressure of Jia Liang, she could only bury this worry deep in her heart. Su Guoqiang, who had been hiding in the dark, was also paying attention to Cai Zhensheng. Seeing that Cai Zhensheng was unable to extricate himself from his injury for a long time, he decided to secretly come to Cai's house before leaving to comfort Cai Zhensheng again. Su Guoqiang advised, Zhensheng, you can't go on like this, sooner or later you will hurt yourself, you are still young, you have to cheer up. Cai Zhensheng paused and replied, maybe I can only do something to resolve the hatred in my heart. After hearing this, Su Guoqiang encouraged Cai Zhensheng to contribute to the revolution. The revolution needs funds, and it needs people with certain strength like Cai Zhensheng to back it up. You might as well consider doing some business. Cai Zhensheng was thoughtful after hearing this, and he vaguely felt that he had found a new way. Guo Jingwen, who was far away in Wuhan, was extremely excited to hear that Cai Zhensheng was still alive. He did not dare to delay for a moment and quickly set out from Wuhan to visit his old friend in Jiujiang. When the two brothers met again, Guo Jingwen found that Cai Zhensheng's temperament had changed drastically, and he was no longer the high-spirited man he used to be. Guo Jingwen knew Cai Zhensheng's inner suffering very well, and felt that this was a true man with great feelings and emotions. He could not help but feel both sorry and angry. He sincerely encouraged Cai Zhensheng to cheer up as soon as possible and look forward to everything. There are still many things worth cherishing in this world, such as family, friendship, and career. You can't just be depressed like this. Guo Jingwen's words completely awakened Cai Zhensheng. He was refreshed and decided to start over and work hard to cheer himself up. Privately, Guo Jingwen asked Cai Zhensheng a sensitive topic, whether he planned to return to the infantry battalion of the new army. Cai Zhensheng shook his head and said that from now on he would completely leave the Hubei New Army and do the career he wanted and was worth doing. After Guo Jingwen expressed his regret, he had to respect his friend's wishes. Only Cai Xiaocong, since being "rejected" by Guo Jingwen last time, has never had a good face for Guo Jingwen's arrival. Cai Zhensheng, who did not know the truth, scolded her severely, saying that Jingwen is my good brother and naturally your brother. How can you treat our guests like this? Cai Xiaocong was very dissatisfied, but she could not tell the "festival" between her and Guo Jingwen, so she secretly went out and went to Jiujiang City to find Zheng Jiulong to fool around. Zheng Jiulong took Xiaocong to a western restaurant and a luxurious cocktail party. This luxurious life made Cai Xiaocong envious. She secretly vowed that she must live such a life, because in her opinion, this is life. After attending the wedding, Cai Zhensheng left Wuhan and returned to Jiujiang. Before leaving, Cai Zhensheng accepted Guo's mother's invitation and will bring his family to visit Guo's house next spring.

Episode 9
In the Jia Mansion. Su Zhenyu sat in front of the window, looking at the amulet returned to her by Cai Zhensheng, feeling depressed. Su Zhenyu was forced by Jia Liang's control over her father to bury this longing deep in her heart. She was becoming more and more unhappy. Jia Liang was also depressed. He found that he could not melt the cold Su Zhenyu no matter what, and he was even more moody after being drunk. Jia Liang's love for Su Zhenyu had long become distorted. He began to control Su Zhenyu's life and was wary of any man who might appear next to Su Zhenyu. When he saw Su Zhenyu talking to the young peddler selling embroidery at the door, he drove the peddler away and called Su Zhenyu into the house to scold her. The maid Xiaoyue advised Su Zhenyu: Although Jia Liang is not as good as Cai Zhensheng, he is also really good to the young lady. This is the fate of a woman. Don't ruin your body. Su Zhenyu felt that she was simply living in hell now. Only when she heard the sound of Jia Liang going out every day could her nervous heart relax for a moment.

Episode 10
Cai Zhensheng and Cai Xiaowan came to the Guo family in Wuhan. Guo Jingwen took Cai Zhensheng to visit the Guo Iron Factory. After the unremitting efforts of Guo Jingwen and Yuehua, the appearance of the factory has been greatly improved. Cai Zhensheng admired Guo Jingwen's management skills and the high efficiency of the factory's mechanized production. Guo Jingwen told Cai Zhensheng mysteriously, Zhensheng, you don't have to envy me, I think you will have your own factory soon. Do you remember what we said when you first visited the factory? We are going to open a rice processing factory in Jiujiang together. I think now is the time. Cai Zhensheng was very excited after hearing this and immediately expressed his approval. At this time, he suddenly remembered Su Shiba's words: run an industry and contribute to the revolution. Then, Cai Zhensheng told Guo Jingwen that he wanted Xiaowan to come to Wuhan to study, first to see the world, and secondly, it would be good for her growth. Guo Jingwen immediately helped, and because of his relationship with the church hospital, he recommended Xiaowan to the church hospital to study nursing. That night, Guo Shirong personally hosted a banquet for Cai Zhensheng. During the dinner, Cai Zhensheng and Guo Jingwen, two old friends, fondly recalled their interactions over the past few years and toasted their friendship. The straightforward Yuehua suddenly asked Cai Zhensheng why he also chose to leave the military. Guo Jingwen left the military to realize his ideal of saving the country through industry. What was your consideration for leaving the military? Cai Zhensheng bluntly stated that he had formed another opinion about the Qing government and that people with different ideas could not work together. Yuehua immediately stated that the Qing government could not be abandoned. Although there were various problems in the court, all of these could be solved one by one through reform. Cai Zhensheng was advised not to go against the court like those revolutionaries who overestimated their own capabilities. Cai Zhensheng was very displeased and was about to refute, but Guo Jingzhi took the lead and had a fierce debate with Yuehua, and the two refused to give in to each other. Later, with the mediation of Guo Jingwen, the dinner was finally finished peacefully.
Early the next morning, Cai Zhensheng said goodbye to Guo Jingwen and Xiaowan, left Wuhan, and returned to Jiujiang. Jiujiang Cai Mansion. Cai Zhensheng returned home and just saw Guo Jingwen who had come to visit. Through Cai Zhensheng's narration, Guo Jingwen knew that Guo Jingzhi was out of danger, and felt relieved. But Guo Jingwen was puzzled by his sister's involvement with Su Guoqiang. At the same time, he was quite critical of Cai Zhensheng's willingness to take risks to rescue the rebel Su Guoqiang. In Guo Jingwen's view, what problems can't be solved peacefully, and why must they resort to bloody revolution and brutal force? Cai Zhensheng felt sorry for Guo Jingzhi and Su Guoqiang. He believed that since the defeat in the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, there have been constant uprisings and revolutions of all sizes, and there must be reasons and reasons for this. Guo Jingwen should try to understand and find out the deep-seated roots, instead of beating all the revolutionaries to death like the current court. Seeing that the two were about to argue, in order to avoid the argument from escalating, Cai Zhensheng took the initiative to take Guo Jingwen to the rice processing factory. Seeing that the factory, which embodies the crystallization of their friendship, was running smoothly, Guo Jingwen was filled with emotion and admired Cai Zhensheng's management ability. The next day, Guo Jingwen said goodbye to Cai Zhensheng. Before leaving, Cai Zhensheng asked how Xiaowan was doing. Guo Jingwen patted his chest and said, "Brother, don't worry about this. I have recommended her to a church hospital to study nursing. With her diligence, she will soon become a first-class nurse in China." Jia Mansion. The maid Xiaoyue handed a personal pendant to Su Zhenyu and told her that it was given to her by Su Guoqiang through Cai Zhensheng. Su Zhenyu knew that her brother Su Guoqiang had been safely rescued by Cai Zhensheng, and was full of gratitude to Cai Zhensheng. She asked Xiaoyue to thank Cai Zhensheng for her when she had the chance. Xiaoyue said mischievously that it would be better for you to thank him directly. But I can see clearly that Cai Zhensheng still likes you, and you can't forget him. How can two people who are so infatuated not be together? Is this really fate? Xiaoyue's words hit the pain in Su Zhenyu's heart, and tears flowed silently. Wuchang. With the recommendation of Guo Jingwen, Xiaowan entered the training institution affiliated with the church hospital to study nursing. This training institution was sponsored by Americans and attached great importance to students' hands-on ability. Therefore, Xiaowan met many foreign wives who came to recuperate during her practice in the hospital. Once, a foreign child got acute pneumonia and was in danger. With Xiaowan's careful care, he was out of danger. The child's grandmother Catherine liked the smart Xiaowan very much and insisted on recuperating Xiaowan as her goddaughter according to Chinese customs. In this way, Xiaowan became the goddaughter of foreign wife Catherine. Without Xiaowan's company in life, Cai Xiaocong's private life became more indecent. Although she had already made an engagement with Feng Zeqing, she still couldn't resist the temptation of the dandy Zheng Jiulong, and was still connected with Zheng Jiulong, living a life of drunkenness and dream.
One day, Cai Xiaocong and Zheng Jiulong were having a secret meeting in the wild, and they were caught by Cai Zhensheng. Cai Zhensheng was furious and slapped Xiaocong hard, scolding Xiaocong for being engaged to Feng Zeqing and not being involved with other men. He never wanted to see such a thing that would bring disgrace to the family and ruin the family's reputation again. Cai Xiaocong retorted angrily, "Please don't use the family's honor to pressure me. This is my own life. I have the right to make my own choices. To tell you the truth, I have long been disgusted with this family. Once my father died, everything in the family was under your control, but Zaixing and I had no right to ask. Our mother was just the second concubine who had been neglected for decades in this family!!

Episode 11
Su Zhenyu couldn't suppress her inner desire, so she asked Xiaoyue to take a note to Cai Zhensheng, asking him to meet her at the dilapidated temple at the east end of the town. Cai Zhensheng arrived on time, and the love between the couple, who had suffered from lovesickness, was rekindled after they met. Cai Zhensheng looked at the scars on Su Zhenyu's body, feeling distressed, and reached out to hug Su Zhenyu tightly. Su Zhenyu thanked Cai Zhensheng for saving her brother, and then took out her own protective pendant and handed it to Cai Zhensheng: In my heart, it belongs to you alone, and so do I.
Then, Su Zhenyu told Cai Zhensheng all the secrets about her life. Cai Zhensheng was shocked at first, and then worried: If Jia Liang knew about this, he would definitely kill you. Moreover, Jia Liang had long coveted your ancestral home and property. If he knew, he would take the opportunity to kill you. Cai Zhensheng felt that this secret was like a time bomb, and it was hard to tell when it would explode.
To be on the safe side and to help Su Zhenyu escape from her current dark life, Cai Zhensheng decided to send her to Guo Jingwen's home in Wuhan, away from the devil Jia Liang. Looking at her beloved man, Su Zhenyu agreed, and the two agreed on a detailed plan to escape. They would meet here three days later, and Cai Zhensheng would personally escort her to Wuhan.
The day of elopement has arrived. Cai Zhensheng waited in the small temple for a long time, but he still couldn't wait for Su Zhenyu. At the same time, Su Zhenyu was under house arrest by Jia Liang, and she was also very worried. In order to save her, Xiaoyue, her personal maid, stole Jia Liang's key and was about to open the door to let Su Zhenyu go. At this time, Jia Liang, who had been hiding in the dark and monitoring her, suddenly jumped out and brutally killed poor Xiaoyue.
Su Zhenyu was hit hard by this and eventually fell ill and was dying. A doctor came to treat Su Zhenyu, but Jia Liang instructed the doctor to secretly give her opium in order to control her.
Cai Zhensheng, who didn't know the truth, waited for Su Zhenyu in the small temple for several days and nights, but still didn't see Su Zhenyu show up. Cai Zhensheng knew that Su Zhenyu must have had an accident, so he went to the Jia Mansion to inquire about it under the pretext of inviting Jia Liang's family to attend Cai Xiaocong's wedding, but was shocked to find that Su Zhenyu had changed and was very cold to him, not as enthusiastic as before.
At this time, Jia Liang came over and said mysteriously, "My wife doesn't want to talk to you anymore, right, madam?" After that, Jia Liang put his arm around Su Zhenyu's waist, turned around and left, and Su Zhenyu followed Jia Liang obediently. This puzzled Cai Zhensheng.
A week later, at the Cai family, Cai Xiaocong and Feng Zeqing's wedding was held as scheduled, with many guests and a lively atmosphere. Jia Liang and Su Zhenyu also came to attend the wedding. While Jia Liang was away, Cai Zhensheng found Su Zhenyu and wanted to ask her everything. Unexpectedly, Su Zhenyu did not respond to his eyes and was still very "unfamiliar" with him. She told him expressionlessly, Zhensheng, I think I should go back to my husband. Cai Zhensheng was even more puzzled: What exactly made Su Zhenyu seem like a different person?
The wedding banquet began. Cai Xiaocong and Feng Zeqing took turns to toast the guests. When it was Cai Zaixing's turn, Cai Xiaocong took the opportunity to get close to Cai Zaixing and whispered: "Go and get me half a catty of pig's blood. I need it. Just put it secretly in the bridal chamber." Cai Zaixing did not dare to delay and ran to the butcher's house in the town to ask for some pig's blood.
That night, Feng Zeqing and Cai Xiaocong made love and were very happy. After they finished, Feng Zeqing fell into a deep sleep. At this time, Xiaocong found the bamboo tube and poured the pig blood inside on the bed sheet. The next morning, Xiaocong pointed at the blood on the bed sheet and cried: Feng Zeqing, I have given you everything, you must treat me well in the future. When Feng Zeqing saw the blood, he thought it was a virgin's blood, and he was overjoyed. He hugged Cai Xiaocong tightly, and the two of them were lingering again.

Episode 12
Jiujiang. Su Shiba sneaked into Jiujiang, secretly promoted the revolution, and contacted enlightened gentry to raise funds for the revolution. At this time, Cai Zhensheng's rice processing factory had already started production and began to make a profit. Out of support for the revolutionary cause, Cai Zhensheng generously donated 5,000 yuan.
Su Shiba was very excited after receiving the silver note of 5,000 yuan. This was the largest single donation he had ever raised. Su Shiba looked at the donor's signature and found that it was written as "Anonymous". Who is this anonymous person? Based on the address left by the anonymous person, Su Shiba decided to visit this generous donor in person and secretly.
That night, Su Shiba came to Cai's house and knocked on the door. The servant opened the door, asked about the situation and welcomed Su Shiba into the house. At this time, Cai Zaixing just came back from fooling around outside, drunk. He took a glance at this mysterious visitor and sobered up immediately. Wasn't this the wanted criminal Su Guoqiang?
When Cai Zhensheng saw Su Shiba coming to visit, he was overjoyed. He then realized that the fundraiser for the revolutionary party's visit to Jiujiang was actually Su Guoqiang, and Su Shiba was just his pseudonym. Su Guoqiang also suddenly realized that the generous anonymous person was Cai Zhensheng.
When old friends meet, they become close. Su Guoqiang thanks Cai Zhensheng for saving his life last time and says that he was sent by Zhu Haoliang to Jiujiang to raise funds for the revolution. When Zhu Haoliang is mentioned, Cai Zhensheng asks where Zhu Haoliang is now, saying that he is my lifesaver. Su Guoqiang tells him that after Zhu Haoliang failed in organizing the Railway Protection Movement, he has sneaked into Wuchang and is in charge of the revolutionary work in Wuchang. He often mentions you. Cai Zhensheng says that he will definitely visit Zhu Haoliang in Wuchang when he has time.
Finally, Su Guoqiang asked Cai Zhensheng if he knew about his sister Su Zhenyu's recent situation. Cai Zhensheng sighed and said that Su Zhenyu's personality had changed drastically for some reason and she began to obey Jia Liang in every way. This was not a good sign. Su Guoqiang was also very worried after hearing this, but with his current status, he could not go to visit his sister, so he could only suppress his sadness.
At the same time, a huge danger was approaching Su Guoqiang and Cai Zhensheng. When Cai Zaixing learned that Su Guoqiang came to visit Cai's house, he immediately rushed to Jia's house to report to the sheriff Jia Liang. It turned out that Cai Zaixing had long been dissatisfied with Cai Zhensheng's donation of the profits of the rice processing plant to the Revolutionary Party. He believed that the processing plant would belong to him in the future, at least half of it would belong to him, and he couldn't let Cai Zhensheng donate it like this.
After Jia Liang learned of this important information, he immediately organized his men to march to Cai's residence overnight to capture Cai Zhensheng and Su Guoqiang. While Jia Liang and Cai Zaixing were plotting in the room, Su Zhenyu quietly went downstairs and came to the door. When she saw Cai Zaixing sneaking to Jia Liang, she knew that this guy was plotting something bad again, so she hid outside the door quietly and heard everything. Seeing that her closest and most beloved people were about to suffer a catastrophic disaster, Su Zhenyu gave up everything. She hurriedly escaped from the Jia Mansion through the back door and rushed to Cai's residence to report the news.
Baochen Mansion in Wuchang. The whole mansion was shrouded in a gloomy and terrifying night, with swords flashing and shadows, and strict security. It turned out that Baochen was ordered by the Qing court to hunt down and massacre revolutionaries in Wuhan. Some outstanding party backbones were arrested one after another, and the revolutionary organization was suffering a devastating blow.
In order to save the revolutionary cause, the revolutionaries led by Zhu Haoliang decided to assassinate Baochen. Su Shiba volunteered to carry out this difficult task; Guo Jingzhi followed Su Shiba and asked to cooperate with Su Shiba and act as Su Shiba's assistant on the grounds that she was familiar with Baochen's family.

Episode 13
Su Shiba was inspired by the incident of prisoners digging tunnels to escape from prison. He thought, why can't we dig a tunnel that leads directly to Baochen's bedroom? As long as enough explosives are buried in the tunnel, there is no need to worry about not sending Baochen to the west. Su Shiba did what he said. The next day, he rented a house on the back street of Baochen's residence and measured the direction and distance of Baochen's bedroom using the telescopic measurement method. That night, Guo Jingzhi was responsible for watching at the door. Su Shiba and three other comrades started digging a tunnel from the residence, all the way to the bottom of the expected Baochen bedroom. Zhu Haoliang secretly sent more than 100 kilograms of explosives. Su Shiba put the explosives into a special tin barrel, installed a fuse, and placed it at the end of the tunnel.
On the night when the explosives were installed, Su Shiba lit the fuse, closed the door, and immediately evacuated with Guo Jingzhi and three other comrades. However, after the scheduled explosion time, there was no movement in Baochen Mansion. Su Shiba felt something was wrong. He resolutely asked Guo Jingzhi and other comrades to hide in a safe place first, and he returned to the tunnel to check. Only then did he find that the tunnel was too humid and the fuse went out by itself due to moisture. Su Shiba was not discouraged and stayed in the tunnel until the next night, when he lit the fuse again. Seeing the fuse spitting out flames and burning towards the other end of the tunnel, Su Shiba evacuated from the tunnel.
That night, when Baochen thought he was safe and sound, he did not expect that the danger of assassination was approaching him from under the foundation of the mansion. Under the inner house of Baochen's mansion, in a tunnel that was only wide enough for one person to move forward and backward, a fuse was burning towards the end of the tunnel. In the starlight of the burning fuse, a tin barrel filled with explosives was clearly visible.
"Boom——", the explosion under the ground shot up into the sky, and Baochen's house was blown into rubble and the walls collapsed. The huge explosion force knocked Baochen to the ground. Baochen, who was awakened from his sleep, was so scared that his soul flew out of his body. He quickly rolled under the table, trembling all over. It must be mentioned here that whether it was a coincidence or fate, Yuehua happened to go home to visit her father that night. Seeing that it was late, she stayed overnight and slept next to Baochen's bedroom. Because Su Shiba dug the tunnel entirely by visual inspection, errors were inevitable, causing the end of the tunnel to deviate from Yuehua's room. As a result, Yuehua was seriously injured in the explosion, but Baochen's bedroom was spared because it was away from the center of the explosion.
Su Shiba was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. Thanks to the timely treatment and the fact that Guo Jingzhi had been targeted by a spy before the assassination, the spy pulled him back and the dagger in his hand was half an inch off, missing Su Shiba's vitals. In this way, Su Shiba came back to life after a near-death experience.
Su Shiba's personality changed drastically after he survived. He was furious at the revolutionaries, especially his beloved Guo Jingzhi, for assassinating him. He complained to Yan Shoumin that he had been on the run for the so-called revolution, living in the open air, sacrificing his life, and shed his blood, but in the end he almost died at the hands of his "former" comrade, who was none other than his most beloved woman, and he had led her onto the road of revolution. The revolutionaries' distrust of Su Shiba, their cold-bloodedness, and lack of loyalty were really chilling.
Yan Shoumin was secretly delighted, knowing that his "divide and conquer" plan had further exerted its power - let the revolutionaries fight each other, both sides would suffer, and he would reap the benefits! Yan Shoumin struck while the iron was hot and further fanned the flames, saying that the revolutionaries were unkind to you, so why should you treat them with "righteousness"? As the old saying goes, a man who knows the times is a hero, and a good bird chooses a tree to roost in. As long as you are willing to surrender to the court, I can not only guarantee that your past crimes will be forgiven, but also guarantee that you will enjoy wealth and glory in the second half of your life. Under Yan Shoumin's persuasion, Su Shiba was so angry that he resolutely betrayed the revolutionaries and surrendered to Baochen, becoming an "accomplice" of the Qing court.
In order to show his loyalty, Su Shiba gave Yan Shoumin the addresses and lists of the revolutionaries' regular meetings. Yan Shoumin was overjoyed and immediately sent people to arrest them while reporting to Baochen. Baochen just finished listening to Yan Shoumin's report, smiled slightly, and was about to speak, when Yan Shoumin's men came to report that all the addresses provided by Su Shiba were empty and no rebels were caught.
Yan Shoumin could not help but feel discouraged, but Baochen waved his hand and smiled faintly, Shoumin, in fact, all this was already expected by me. These addresses and lists are now just pieces of waste paper and are worthless. Don't you think that Su Shiba's betrayal has caused a lot of trouble in the city. It is no longer a secret to the revolutionaries. The rebels must have moved away secretly. Even a fool would not sit and wait for death, let alone those cunning rebels? Therefore, this information is simply useless information. To tell you the truth, I never expected Su Shiba to provide us with anything. His surrender is of the greatest significance in terms of politics and public opinion. As for other aspects, there is no need to be too demanding.
After hearing this, Yan Shoumin nodded repeatedly and admired Baochen even more.

Episode 14
At this time, the Guo family suffered a series of misfortunes, which were filled with tragedy. First, Yuehua was killed in the explosion, and now Guo Jingzhi was in prison. What Guo Shirong could not accept was that Guo Jingzhi colluded with Su Shiba and intended to murder his relative Baochen, becoming an accomplice in the accidental killing of Yuehua - his daughter-in-law died at the hands of his own daughter. Guo Shirong felt deeply about the misfortune of his family, and suffered a severe blow to his heart. He was unable to breathe and was bedridden.
Baochen never expected that his in-laws' daughter Guo Jingzhi was actually an accomplice in the assassination attempt, and he could not help but feel angry. Baochen went to Guo's house angrily to ask for punishment, and scolded Guo Shirong for not educating his daughter well. Guo Shirong, who was lying on the sickbed, was speechless and could only apologize repeatedly, begging Baochen to spare Guo Jingzhi's life for his old face. Unexpectedly, Baochen said insidiously that he would not execute Guo Jingzhi, and killing Guo Jingzhi with a knife would be a bargain for her. He wanted to lock Guo Jingzhi up in prison for the rest of her life, making her live a life worse than death.
The first "anti-traitor" operation ended in failure, but Zhu Haoliang was not discouraged and continued to organize the second wave of "anti-traitor" operations. Just when Zhu Haoliang was at a loss for the candidates for the operation, Cai Zhensheng appeared in front of him.

Episode 15
Cai Xiaocong followed Feng Zeqing to the glamorous world of Wuhan, and often went to high-end dances and fashion parties. Being very vain, she enjoyed it very much and lost herself in the bright lights and feasting.
One day, Feng Enran came to Feng Zeqing and wanted to "do business" with Feng Zeqing. As the assistant of the Foreign Trade Bureau, Feng Zeqing often dealt with foreigners, and it should be a piece of cake for him to smuggle some luxury goods from foreigners. As the chief of the patrol police in the three towns of Wuhan, Feng Enran could provide security for smuggling. As long as the two of them worked together, they would make a fortune. However, this proposal was flatly rejected by Feng Zeqing, who was upright and principled. Feng Enran could not help but be very disappointed with this distant cousin, thinking that he was a "blockhead" and unintelligent!!

Episode 16
Jiujiang. Cai Zhensheng received a secret letter from the revolutionary Zhu Haoliang. The letter was sent from Wuchang. Zhu Haoliang invited Cai Zhensheng to Wuchang to assist him in carrying out a confidential mission - Operation "Iron Blood". It happened that Cai Zhensheng's rice processing factory was controlled by Cai Xiaocong and Cai Zaixing at that time. Cai Zhensheng had no hope of raising funds for the revolution, so he decided to accept the invitation and go to Wuchang to devote himself to the revolution.
Before leaving, Cai Zhensheng rode up Duxiu Peak and bid farewell to Su Zhenyu. Cai Zhensheng also specifically told Zhang Baozai to keep a low profile and preserve his strength during this period, and never act rashly. Once the revolution breaks out, he can raise an army to respond to it from afar. Zhang Baozai nodded and said that the person he admired most in his life was Brother Cai. Brother, I will do whatever you say.
Su Zhenyu kept looking at Cai Zhensheng with worry, and was very reluctant to leave. Cai Zhensheng held Zhenyu in his arms and said lovingly, "Don't worry, Zhenyu, I will be back soon!" Su Zhenyu burst into tears, "Zhensheng, you promised me, you can't break your promise, you must come back safely!" Cai Zhensheng nodded heavily: "Baozi, Zhenyu is in your hands."
Zhang Baozai patted his chest and said, "Brother, don't worry." Cai Zhensheng gently wiped away the tears on Su Zhenyu's face, jumped on his horse, and ran down the mountain without looking back. He didn't dare to look back, because he was afraid that if he saw Su Zhenyu and her sad eyes, he would no longer have the courage to leave. Su Zhenyu and Zhang Baozai were always behind him, watching him go away little by little with tears in their eyes, and disappearing into the sunset.
After Su Shiba surrendered to Baochen, he had been thinking about how to assassinate Baochen all the time, but he was always monitored by spies and had no chance to act. Su Shiba found out that Baochen liked antiques, so he often went to the antique market, hoping to find one or two treasures to present to Baochen and get a chance to get close to Baochen. One day, Su Shiba found an ancient seven-star dagger in the antique market, and his eyes lit up, and a bold plan immediately flashed through his mind.
The next day, Su Shiba went to see Baochen in the name of presenting treasures, carrying a painting and the seven-star dagger. At the gate of Baochen's house, the guards carefully searched Su Shiba's body and found that he was not carrying any weapons, except for the seven-star dagger, which was a dangerous object. Su Shiba explained that the painting and dagger were all antiques and were treasures presented to Lord Baochen. If you don't believe me, you can ask Lord Baochen directly. After hearing this, the guards dared not say anything more and quickly let him go.
After Su Shiba entered the mansion, he took advantage of the situation and quickly hid the Seven-Star Dagger in his arms. At this time, Baochen was discussing matters with Feng Enran. When he saw Su Shiba coming, he first pretended to comfort him, and then asked Su Shiba if he had any good things and asked him to take them out to let him open his eyes.
Su Shiba said nothing, but used his eyes to signal Baochen that since Feng Enran was present, it was inconvenient to say more. Baochen understood and asked Feng Enran to wait at the door for a while, ready to be called at any time. After Feng Enran walked to the door, Su Shiba slowly unfolded the scroll in his hand. This was the authentic flower and bird scroll of Bada Shanren. Baochen was very surprised when he saw it. He quickly took the scroll and hung it on the wall when he saw a ready-made nail on the wall. He turned his back to Su Shiba and admired the scroll with his face, making sighs of admiration from time to time. Su Shiba saw that Baochen was absorbed in looking at the painting and relaxed his vigilance against him, so he quickly pulled out the Seven Star Dagger from his arms and stabbed Baochen.
Unexpectedly, there was a dress mirror next to the painting where Baochen hung it, which was used by Baochen to adjust his clothes. Baochen saw Su Shiba pulling out the dagger through the dress mirror, and turned around and shouted, "Su Guoqiang, what are you doing?" Feng Enran, who was standing outside the door, also rushed in.
Seeing that the action was not going smoothly, Su Guoqiang couldn't help feeling a little panicked, but he suddenly had an idea and remained calm. He raised the dagger with both hands and handed it to Baochen, saying, "Sir, I found an exquisite dagger in the antique market, and I'm here to present it to you. Please take a look."
Baochen took the dagger and saw that it was indeed a good dagger, inlaid with seven precious beads and extremely sharp. Baochen was overjoyed and accepted the two treasures sent by Su Shiba one by one. After Su Shiba left, Feng Enran told Baochen that Su Shiba seemed to have signs of assassination just now, and because he was discovered in time, he pretended to offer the dagger. At Feng Enran's reminder, Baochen, who had woken up from the joy of getting the treasure, also felt that Su Shiba's behavior just now was worthy of suspicion. Feng Enran rolled his eyes and suggested to Baochen that I have a plan. Whether Su Shiba is sincere or not, we will know it after a try. As long as you send someone to invite Su Shiba immediately, if he is not panicked and has no doubts at all, he is sincerely offering you the treasure; if Su Shiba refuses to come, he must have something to hide, then his offering of the dagger is fake, and the assassination is real, so you can arrest him immediately for interrogation.
Sure enough, when Su Shiba just sat down at home, he recalled the danger just now and was still frightened. At this time, Baochen sent someone to invite him to his house to discuss important matters. Su Shiba weighed the pros and cons and decided to take the risk, pretending to be unaware of the situation and went to the appointment. Su Shiba's move saved himself, but from then on, the suspicious Baochen strengthened his precautions against Su Shiba and no longer met with Su Shiba.

Episode 17
Under Zhu Haoliang's arrangement, Cai Zhensheng hid his real name and opened a photo studio in order to prepare for the assassination of Baochen. During the day, Cai Zhensheng took photos for others, and at night he and Zhu Haoliang carefully studied Baochen's movements. They were always looking for an opportunity, an opportunity to kill Baochen.
What Cai Zhensheng didn't expect was that the photo studio's business was very prosperous, with customers coming in every day. On this day, there was a customer who surprised Cai Zhensheng very much-Cai Xiaowan. The church hospital where Cai Xiaowan worked was not far away. She came to pick up photos for the hospital's director Maria. Unexpectedly, she saw her brother and was overjoyed. Xiaowan wanted to take Cai Zhensheng to see Guo Jingwen and comfort him, but Cai Zhensheng was unwilling to see Guo Jingwen at this time-because Baochen, whom he wanted to assassinate, was Guo Jingwen's former father-in-law and the person that Guo Jingwen, the chief of patrol police, was trying to protect with all his strength. Cai Zhensheng was clear about his special mission and dared not expose or flaunt it. Meeting Guo Jingwen at this time would only cause trouble for himself, so he told Xiaowan not to tell Jingwen that he was in Wuhan. If it was convenient, he would take the initiative to meet Jingwen. Cai Xiaowan agreed to her brother's request, but she repeatedly told her brother to be careful. If he encountered any trouble, he must ask Jingwen for help, and he would definitely help him.
Cai Zhensheng took a photo of his sister himself. Governor's Office. Baochen was still in shock over the assassination attempt, so he called a meeting with Guo Jingwen, Feng Enran and the military policeman who was burned. According to the description of the military policeman, the relevant personnel had already drawn a picture and sent the assassin's head portrait to Baochen.
Despite wearing two fake mustaches and a fake mole on his left cheek, Feng Enran still recognized the assassin as Cai Zhensheng at a glance. Feng Enran had long known the relationship between Cai Zhensheng and Guo Jingwen, so he slandered Cai Zhensheng in front of Baochen, accusing Guo Jingwen of failing to protect Baochen's safety and committing a serious dereliction of duty; he accused Guo Jingwen of having an unshirkable responsibility for Cai Zhensheng's escape, and even did not rule out the possibility that Guo Jingwen had deliberately let Cai Zhensheng go; he then made groundless accusations and suspected that Guo Jingwen was a traitor, and that the news of Baochen going to the theater to watch a play was secretly revealed to Cai Zhensheng by Guo Jingwen.
Although Guo Jingwen used his body to block the bullet for Baochen, he was only suspected by Baochen. In the end, Baochen asked Guo Jingwen to go home and rest for a while, saying that Guo Jingwen and Cai Zhensheng were not suitable for investigating the case. He appointed Feng Enran as the acting chief of patrol police, and Guo Jingwen was demoted to Feng Enran's deputy.

Episode 18
Feng Mansion. Feng Enran held a grand celebration party to celebrate his reappointment as Chief of Patrol Police. His distant cousin Feng Zeqing and his wife Cai Xiaocong came to congratulate him. Sexy and charming Cai Xiaocong dressed up carefully and appeared at the party. Feng Enran was attracted by Cai Xiaocong's beauty, and the scheming Cai Xiaocong had long wanted to hook up with Feng Enran, a big tree, and the two of them exchanged glances. When toasting, Cai Xiaocong deliberately catered to Feng Enran's preferences and offered flattering words to Feng Enran, complimenting Feng Enran that he was the pillar of maintaining the stability of the three towns of Wuhan, and Cai Zhensheng and his ilk were just ants trying to shake a big tree.
Feng Enran asked curiously, "Isn't Cai Zhensheng your brother? Now that he has become a wanted criminal in the court, you are not worried about him at all." Unexpectedly, Cai Xiaocong said contemptuously, "Brother, does he look like a brother? I have never regarded him as a brother. Of course, he has never cared about me, his sister."
Feng Enran laughed: "Miss Cai is a heroine who can judge the situation. She should have drawn a clear line for people like Cai Zhensheng and never cross the line." Cai Xiaocong continued, "You are wise, it is a misfortune for the Cai family to have such a rebel. I am really scared."
Feng Enran laughed and said, "Don't worry, I'm here, no one can do anything to you. You are such a beauty."
Cai Xiaocong smiled charmingly, "Your Excellency is my backer, so I will rely on you in the future." At the city gate, wanted pictures of Cai Zhensheng were posted everywhere. Feng Enran and Guo Jingwen were ordered to lead the military and police to set up multiple checkpoints at the gate, and conduct detailed inspections of people and goods leaving the city.
At this time, a troupe of actors came in a mighty procession, with a large sedan in the middle of the team. However, in this hot day, even the curtains were not opened, and the troupe was covered tightly. When the troupe arrived at the city gate, the sentry stepped forward to question them. It turned out to be a Peking Opera troupe that had just performed for Lord Baochen a few days ago and was about to leave the city. The sentry was tactful and knew that the troupe was Baochen's guests. He did not dare to offend them, s
